Indassa e-series vs Mirka deros 5.0

Investing in a Dustless sanding set up is the single most useful bit of advice i could give to anyone in the trades, looking to tidy up their workplace and give a more professional finish. Looking at the two dustless sanders I have purchased, they appear to be very similar. After having owned, and used both I can conclude my favourite is the Mirka and explain why. With a 7 speed gear system and 150mm (6 inch) pad size, ergonomic design, perfect for single handed operation and brushless motor, this sander is great for decorative works, on site and for DIY projects.

The 15 hole backing pad allows dust particles to flow easily through the sander to keep the workspace clean and healthy.

Indassa E-series

With a 7 speed gear system and 150mm (6 inch) pad size, ergonomic design, perfect for single handed operation and brushless motor, this sander is great for decorative works, on site and for DIY projects. The 15 hole backing pad allows dust particles to flow easily through the sander to keep the workspace clean and healthy.

The Indassa E-series random orbital sander 150mm Cv comes with clips, to hold the power supply to the hose, a 150mm backing pad, 24mm wrench to easily swap the backing pads once the hook and loop mechanism has deteriorated. This doesn’t happen often providing you use the 7 speed gearing to ensure you don’t melt the disks. As well as a handy container for the tool and its parts.

My issues with the sander is that this is the only sander in the Indassa E-series range. I was informed at the Painting and Decorating Show in Coventry in 2018 that more sanders would be added to the range, sadly this doesn’t appear to have happened yet.

The storage box that is provided with the Random Orbital Sander doesn’t attach to the Indassa E-series Dust Extractor. I find this particularly annoying as Mirka T-lock storage boxes will attach to the Festool extractors.

 On top of this, Indassa only supply a single size backing pad for the E-series Sander. This makes sanding smaller areas more difficult. It makes the sander less useful than others on the market.

With a multi speed gear system and 150mm (6 inch) or 125mm (4.92 inch) pad size, ergonomic design, perfect for single and double handed operation and brushless motor, this sander is great for decorative works, on site and for DIY projects.

The Mirka backing pad is optimized for using the Abranet abrasive for sanding without dust.  The backing pad helps you get the most out of your net abrasive. Available in various levels of softness, depending on what your sanding. The fresh air channels on the pad support an increased airflow and thanks to that the dust is removed efficiently.

The Mrika Deros 5.0 random orbital sander comes with both 150mm and 125mm backing pads, 24mm wrench to easily swap the backing pads, depending on what size is needed. A handy t-lock sustainer for the tool. It is also compatible with the myMirka app where you can find the following;

Follow-up vibration and speed data,Fill in the warranty registration in a few clicks,Find manuals,Get the latest news

My issues worth the Mirka Deros 5.0 random orbital sander is that the power lead is a simple kettle lead small clip to secure it, this doesn’t feel that strong when compared to either a fixed power supply like the Indassa or the twist-to-secure mechanism festool use.

In conclusion, I think that the Mirka 5.0 is the clear winner, although, in my view, both sanders have room to improve. It’s clear to me that the Indassa, for the price just doesn’t quite make the mark, perhaps if they offered the 125mm backing pad and reassessed the container it would be a closer competitor. There isn’t a lot of difference but with the app, compete sanding range, compatible t-lock systainers and different sized backing pads I| would recommend the Mirka Deros 5.0 Random Orbital Sander over the Indassa E-series Random Orbital Sander.
