Dulux Masonry Paint Review
I have been a painter and decorator for most of my working life, and during the summer months, I tend to stick with exterior painting. I use products from various paint brands, but when I’m faced with painting something that gets exposed to the Great British Weather, I tend to sick with the one brand I have most faith in. For me, that is Dulux! In this blog, I’m going to give you an honest Dulux Masonry Paint Review. I hope you find it helpful.
You should always stick with trade paint when decorating, but this is especially true when painting outside. You need your painted surface to last, and using cheap paint will mean it will start to fade or flake several years earlier than it would with a good quality product. So, trying to save a few quid by buying retail paint is normally false economy. To that end, I’m going to focus on Dulux Weathershield Masonry Paint in this blog.
Dulux Masonry Paint – The Stats
Dulux Trade Weathershield Masonry Paint is a fully water-based product which is available from many online retailers in thousands of different colours. It is touch dry (and shower-proof) after 30 minutes, and the recoat time is roughly 2 – 4 hours depending on conditions.
As it’s a trade product, Dulux Trade Weathershield Masonry Paint comes condensed. This means you can add water to it to increase the amount of material you have. Plus, you can achieve the correct consistency for the job in hand.
You can apply this product via brush, roller, or airless sprayer. If you are going to brush and roller it, make sure you use a good quality paint roller, because it will make all the defence to your overall finish.
My Review
This is where I explain WHY I use Dulux Masonry Paint over all others. The flow, opacity and coverage of Dulux is far better than any of the other trade masonry paint products I have used (and I’ve tried them all). It doesn’t craze over caulk, and it goes over filler without issue.
Dulux Masonry Paint offers even more than that though. As I mentioned in the product description, it is “shower proof” in half an hour “ which is more like 20 minutes). This is fantastic for me, because let’s face it, the weather in the UK is pretty unpredictable, and it’s nice to know I have a safety net.
But that isn’t the main reason I think Dulux Masonry Paint is better than its rivals. I alluded to it before, but a surface painted in Dulux Masonry paint seems to last longer than any of the others. It makes your home look beautiful and keeps it looking that way for years!
I’ll end by saying the obvious; I really do like this paint, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
